Solid Waste Management Program

Under Ek Prithvi- Solid Waste Management program of WWF-AAPSO, we conducted Awareness Program in 10 schools of Morigaon District. Waste Segregation process was explained to students, teachers & staff through presentation and interaction session. We guided them to segregate their wastes at source so that recyclable material can make its way to recycling plants and the wet waste can be composted and made into manure. We placed three-coloured dustbins in the school along with Segregation charts to provide practical experience of segregation to the students. We created a Compost pit in the school premises and demonstrated the process of composting to the students. We provided the schools with Bamboo Cages where they stored their plastic wastes once the Blue Bin is full.
