Solid Waste Management
Earthful Foundation has been working for many years with various schools, colleges, apartments, townships, events, etc. to bring in the knowledge and habit of waste segregation under its flagship program – Project Good Waste.
Under this project, we create awareness about the issue of improper disposal of waste and its management. We guide people to segregate their wastes at source so that the recyclable material can make its way to recycling plants and the organic waste can be composted into manure. This way hardly 20% of our waste, mostly the sanitary waste goes to landfill hence reducing air and water pollution significantly. The model of Project good waste has been replicated to various schools, apartments and townships and we aim to spread the good work all across the country.
Project Good Waste at Educational Institutions
Project Good Waste is initiated in educational institutions through an Orientation Program to sensitise the students, teachers and staff about the issues arising out of improper waste management and making them aware of ways to manage waste effectively. Under the project, three coloured dustbins are placed at appropriate places in the school and the usage, as per the colour code, is taught to students & Staff. The process is monitored and the school receives a Green Certificate on successfully achieving the compliance.

Awareness on plastic pollution & Waste Management through fun learning Activities
As leaders of tomorrow, children need to be well-equipped to safeguard our planet. When they are raised in an environment where they are made aware how to conserve nature and manage their waste, they become responsible and thoughtful members of the community. With this thought in mind, we organize fun-learning activities like Slogan Writing, Art Competition, wall painting, etc. for the kids so that they understand the environmental issues around them in an entertaining way.

Ek Prithvi Program on Solid Waste Management in collaboration with WWF-AAPSO
Under Ek Prithvi- Solid Waste Management program, in 10 schools of Mayong, we conducted Awareness Program for the students, teachers and staff in which Waste Segregation process was explained through presentation and interaction session. We guided them to segregate their wastes at source so that recyclable material can make its way to recycling plants and the wet waste can be composted and made into manure. We placed three-coloured dustbins in the school along with Segregation charts to provide practical experience of segregation to the students. We created a Compost pit in the school premises and demonstrated the process of composting to the students. We provided the schools with Bamboo Cages where they stored their plastic wastes once the Blue Bin is full.
